Lock Your Doors
There are more than a few Lehigh Valley communities where you should feel very safe. The most common way for a thief to get into a house is through an unlocked door.
Close First Floor Windows at Night or When You’re Away
If your front door is locked, a thief is most likely going to look around your house for the next easiest entrance, an open window. Make sure your windows, especially first floor ones, are closed and locked when you’re away or at night.
Don’t Share Your Vacation Photos on Facebook Right Away
Hey, we’re like you, we love to take pictures when we’re traveling. However, it may not be the best idea to share your vacation photos as they happen via any sort of public social media account. If your social media accounts are for trusted friends and family only, you may be a bit safer. However, you can also share all of those photos when you get home!
Make Sure You Use Your Deadbolt Lock
Deadbolts are there for a reason and we find that sometimes people just don’t use them. What’s the reason? Laziness. Not thinking they need to. When it’s time to lock up at night, make sure you’re using your deadbolt. It gives you an added layer of protection and just takes a second to lock.
Turn on Your Alarm When You Leave
You wouldn’t believe the amount of people who have an alarm or home security device that they don’t turn on when they leave. Why do you have it in the first place? Make setting your home alarm or security device part of your routine!
