A home is only as secure as the locks on its doors. A residential locksmith keeps those locks working, changes who has keys to them and upgrades them when it’s time.
You might want old locks replaced, or new keys after a move. We do both, along with repairs and lockouts.
Locks and keys wear out like anything else. When they do, the house is harder to secure and harder to get into. These are the residential services we offer:

Emergency Lockout Assistance
Locked out of your home? We open the door with damage-free methods and give you an estimated time of arrival when you call. If the lockout follows a break-in or lost keys, we can change or rekey the locks during the same visit.

Broken Key Extraction
We remove broken keys with extraction tools that leave the lock intact, which saves the cost of a replacement lock. Older locks break keys more often, so we also check the lock and cut a new key on site.
Please don’t try to pull the piece out yourself. Pushing it deeper can turn a simple extraction into a lock repair.
Keys break more often than you’d think. If yours snapped off in the front door, call us. We extract the piece and cut a new key on site.
House Lockouts
A house lockout is stressful, and the fix is usually quick. We send a locksmith to unlock the door using methods that protect the lock and the frame. Deadbolts and smart locks are both routine for us.
Beyond unlocking, we change or rekey locks after a break-in and cut spare keys.

Lock Install
We install deadbolts, smart locks and high-security locks on new and existing doors. Moving into a new home or replacing worn hardware are the usual reasons. Each lock is fitted to the door and tested before we leave.
Lock Repair
Locks wear with age. A key that drags, a latch that misses the strike or a knob that wobbles are all signs, and each has a specific fix. We repair residential locks at your door and catch the small problems before they become a lockout. If a lock can’t be repaired, we replace it and key the new one to your existing keys, so one key still runs the house.

High-Security Lock Installation
High-security locks resist picking and drilling, and their keys can’t be copied without your approval. We also do security audits to find the weak points in a home’s doors and locks. Features include restricted keyways, hardened steel inserts and anti-pick pins.
Smart Lock Installation and Programming
A smart lock lets you lock up, check the door and hand out codes from your phone. We install and program most brands and walk you through the app before we leave. See smart lock installation and programming.

Master Keying
A home master key system lets your key open every door on the property while a child’s or a sitter’s key opens the front door alone.
Most people run into a lock problem once or twice: a lockout, a key that snaps, a deadbolt that stops lining up. Before you force anything, call us.
We serve homes across the Lehigh Valley, from Easton to Kutztown. Call (484) 891-1922 and we’ll go over our pricing structure and an estimated time of arrival.
Key Duplication Services
We cut spare and replacement house keys on site, including high-security keys when you’re the authorized holder. Our machines cut to the original specification, so a copy works as smoothly as the key it came from. We can also make a new key from a worn or broken one.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions from homeowners and renters. If yours is missing, call (484) 891-1922 or check the FAQ page.
I just moved in. Should I change the locks?
At minimum, rekey them. You can’t know how many copies of the old key exist. New locks make sense if the existing ones are worn or low grade.
What’s the difference between rekeying and replacing a lock?
Rekeying changes the pins inside so a new key works and the old one doesn’t. Replacing swaps the whole lock. Rekeying uses fewer parts and keeps your hardware.
Can all my doors work on one key?
Usually, if the locks are the same brand or share a keyway. We check that before we start.
Will you damage my door getting me in?
Not in a normal lockout. We pick or bypass the lock. Drilling is a last resort, and we ask first.
Do you ask for ID on a house lockout?
Yes. We confirm you live there before we open the door. It’s the same protection you’d want if a stranger called about your address.
Are smart locks worth it?
For many homes, yes. You stop carrying a key and can give a guest a code that expires. They run on batteries, so most models keep a keyhole as a backup.
My key is hard to turn. Is the lock failing?
Maybe. It can also be a worn key or a door that has shifted in its frame. Each of those can be repaired, and catching it early avoids a lockout.
