So what DO you do? Another option you might not have thought of would be to have another copy of that old key made! While the process can be a challenge, it can also help preserve the functionality of your home and preserve the originality of your home. The only thing required is to have a key to make a copy of first.
It’s also a good idea to have a professional give all of the old locks throughout your home a once over. Nothing would be more unpleasant than using your new key in a lock, only to have the worn pieces within the locking mechanism fail from age and a lack of use.
