Volkswagen Car Key Replacement
Automotive Locksmith
Top Rated Nationally, But Local To You
Volkswagen keys take more specialized equipment than most. We work on them from our van, and we start with the year, make and model. Jetta, Passat, Golf, Beetle and Tiguan owners can call for pricing and availability on their car.
When it is, we come to the car and you skip the tow to a dealer. Our car key replacement page covers the makes we see most.
The familiar VW key is a flip key. Press the button and a laser-cut blade swings out of the remote. The blade has a track milled into its face, which needs a high-security cutter. Inside the remote is a chip that the car’s immobilizer checks at every start.

Lost or Stolen Volkswagen Keys
Most Volkswagens since about 2000 have an immobilizer, so a new key must be cut and also matched to the car. With all keys lost, expect a few more questions from us about the exact model, since VW changed systems several times.
On the models we program, the missing key is erased from the car when the new one is added. We can also rekey the door lock so the old blade can’t open it.
Broken Volkswagen Keys
Flip keys break at the hinge pin, and the blade ends up loose in your pocket. Don’t throw it out. We copy the cuts from the old blade, and the remote half may still be usable.
Call (484) 891-1922 with the year and model and your location. We’ll confirm availability, then explain pricing and an estimated time of arrival. Our Volkswagen key service covers the whole Lehigh Valley. Find your town on our locations page.

Volkswagen Models We Are Asked About Most
Coverage on Volkswagen keys depends on the year, so treat this list as a guide. Call with the year and model for availability.
Models
Jetta, Passat, Golf, GTI, Beetle, Tiguan, Atlas, CC, Touareg and Rabbit.
What to have ready
We’ll ask for the year and model, the spot where the car is sitting, and whether any key still works. That is enough to tell you pricing and availability before we drive out. We confirm lawful possession of the car as part of the job.
Questions Volkswagen Owners Ask
My Volkswagen key won’t turn in the ignition. Is it the key?
It can be a worn key or a worn ignition cylinder. We check both, and we repair or replace ignition cylinders on site. See ignition repair.
Do I need to know what kind of key my Volkswagen uses?
No. The year and model tell us the blade, the chip and the remote your car needs.
Do you stand behind the Volkswagen keys you make?
Yes. The parts carry a guarantee against factory defects, and the work is guaranteed against faulty craftsmanship.
Can you make a spare Volkswagen key from the one I have?
For the models we cover, yes. With a working key in hand we copy the cut and add the new key to the car. It is the simplest key job there is, and a spare now saves a lost-key call later.
