You’ll be visiting friends and family, so keeping your keys on you or in a pocket means they won’t go missing when the excitement takes over.
If you take multiple trips to the car, make sure your keys are visible before you close the trunk when you’re loading and unloading your new haul of gifts.
Try to stick to any sort of routine when it comes to putting your keys away. It’s so exciting to enjoy your new gifts, but still remember to put your keys in their designated spot so you’re not scrambling to find them for work the next day.

Just the other day, we saw someone post on our neighborhood Facebook group reminding people to lock their car doors. It turns out that criminals were going car to car and seeing which car doors were locked and then opening those cars and taking whatever they could inside.
We get it, you’re supposed to lock your doors and it’s a pretty simple thing to do. But, have you ever forgotten to lock your door? We all have. Whether it’s due to one of your kids running into the house or maybe even a torrential downpour, there are many reasons that people sometimes forget to lock their car or house doors. You’re only human.
That being said, it’s never a bad idea to improve on remembering important things, like locking your doors. Even if you live in the safest neighborhood in the Lehigh Valley, it’s a good idea to lock your door.
Many times, car break ins are the result of simply leaving your car unlocked. Had you locked it, that criminal would have gone onto the next car.
The same can also be said for your home. There really is no good idea to leave your house unlocked at any time.
Do whatever it takes to remind you. Sometimes, the simplest things are the easiest. How about leaving a note right inside the house door? It’s a simple, but effective way to keep locking your doors, and keeping yourself and your loved ones safe.

What is a Smart Key or Proximity Key?
Smart key and proximity key are two terms to describe the same thing.
Smart keys are keys that may remain inside your pocket at all times. You approach the vehicle and the doors will unlock by just touching the handle, and when you enter the vehicle you don’t need to pull out your key, you just press a button or turn the ignition and the car starts. Cars equipped with this kind of new key technology are very convenient.
A convenience you will pay for if you ever lose your car key.

You’ve got your coat on, grab your phone, and go to grab you… keys… hold on. Wait. Where are they?! Dang it! You put your keys down somewhere when you got home from work last night and now they could be anywhere. After ripping the house apart, you finally track them down and roll into work twenty minutes late.
Ugh!
This is not a great way to start your day. Here are a few tips to minimize losing your keys.
Whether you grab the mail, let the dog out, or put your coat in the closet, try to also keep the same routine with your keys. Put them in a designated spot where you routinely place them every single time they’re not in use.
A decorative dish in the entrance way, a hook to the door heading out to the garage, or a number of other convenient spots can be found to place your keys. Get in the habit of putting them there every single time you come home.
If you find yourself with your hands full with groceries or coming back from a trip, you might also be carrying your keys in the same armload. Then when you put the items down, your keys can get lost in the shuffle. Rather than carrying them with everything else, a lanyard to put around your neck or a carabiner clip to hook on your purse or belt loop means that your keys are on your person, even when you place that arm full of stuff down. Then just take the keys and pop them in their designated spot.
If you try and try to stick with the above mentioned and it just isn’t doing it for you, there are a number of locating options that, with the assistance of an app, can be added to your keys. This keychain can be activated with your phone and then will emit a small beep, chirp, etc. and you’ll be able to hear your keys calling for you as they’re buried in the middle of the couch.
