Which Masterlock is Harder to Pick? (VIDEO)

If you’re new to our blog, we sometimes like to share lockpicking videos since it gives a little bit of a glimpse into the things we work with and are interested in.

One of our favorite YouTubers is “LockpickingLawyer”. He’s particularly interesting because he highlights some of the defects in consumer grade locks and safes, which can help you when making a decision on what to secure your valuables with.

Click the link or the pic above to see which one of these Masterlocks was harder to pick! We think you’ll enjoy it!

Prepare Your Car for Winter in the Lehigh Valley

In the Lehigh Valley, it seems like it can be 80 degrees one afternoon and a blizzard the next! We’ve grown used to living in an area where winter can come on quickly.

However, if you’re still thinking that the snow is a few weeks off: Don’t!

Get started today with these tips for getting your car ready for the winter in the Lehigh Valley.

  1. Keep Your Gas Tank Filled: Your car will work better in low temperatures with a fuller gas tank. If you’re empty on the way home, fill up.
  2. Change Your Oil: No better time than when it starts to get cold!
  3. Change your fluids and get a basic tune up.
  4. Change to snowtires if you are going to be driving in the winter often.
  5. Make sure you have a medical kit that has flares in it in case of an emergency.
  6. Make sure there are blankets and warm clothes in your car in case you need to wait for help.
  7. Check your defroster and heater.
  8. Keep our number handy! 484 891 1922

Tips for Driving on Wet Leaves in the Lehigh Valley

Driving on leaves can be as dangerous as driving on ice or in driving rain. Just beacuse those fall leaves look beautiful doesn’t mean they can’t be deadly!

Here are some tips from the National Highway Administration on driving in wet leafy conditions.

What you can do to avoid the danger

1. Reduce speed. If you’re going slower, you’ll have more time to stop.

2. Maintain a healthy distance between you and the driver in front of you, in case that vehicle skids on leaves.

3. Clean off your vehicle. Before starting the engine, clean any leaves off the windshield, top of the car and hood.

4. Make sure your tires have good tread, which helps channel water away from the tires. Less water means more traction.

Why Does Frost Form on Your Car’s Windshield?

We all know the feeling of waking up in the morning only to find a nice, fresh sheet of ice on your windshield, causing you to remember where you left that ice scraper in your trunk.

Of course, after one icy morning, you probably will keep that ice scraper handy for the rest of the season.

But, why does that ice form? We’ll tell you.

When the temperatures drop in the fall and winter, there isn’t much to keep the heat from escaping your vehicle,

Your car is the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about frost. Many of us park our cars outdoors at night, and when skies are clear and temperatures fall quickly, there isn’t anything to stop the heat from escaping your vehicle.

Once your car gets to freezing point, moisture on the outside of the car will begin to freeze, forming a layer of frost. Cars aren’t that great at retaining heat, so it doesn’t take too long for this process to occur.

Be sure to give youself a little extra time this time of year to get your car ready for the road!

Drive Safely on Halloween Weekend in the Lehigh Valley

While this year may be a bit different than those in the past, many municipalities are still holding trick-or-treat activities this weekend throughout the Lehigh Valley.

Here are just a few simple tips or reminders to keep yourself and others safe during this time.

  1. Be on the lookout: Simply pay more attention on Halloween weekend as compared to others. If you start your drive knowing to be looking out for additional people on the roads, you are already starting off on the right foot.
  2. Drive more slowly: This weekend’s not the time to be speeding through the neighborhood. Take your time. There will be many more children on the streets after dark.
  3. Be on the lookout for kids: This sounds obvious, but children are shorter than adults and adults are mostly who is normally out after dark on a given night. Be sure to be on the lookout a little lower than usual!
  4. Be patient: You might have to stop for a red light for awhile or make a few more stops than usual.

The most important thing to remember is to have fun!
