Yamaha Motorcycle Key Replacement

Motorcycle Locksmith

Top Rated Nationally, But Local To You

We’ve been replacing lost and broken Yamaha keys since 2012. The work is done at the bike: we read the lock, cut the key in the van and test it in the ignition, seat and fuel cap. That covers the YZF-R models, the MT and FZ lines, V Star cruisers and more.

If a key breaks inside one of the locks, we come out, extract the piece and cut a replacement. If your Yamaha came with a red master key, it has an immobilizer. We make those keys as well. Call with the year, make and model for availability.

Call (484) 891-1922 and tell us the year, the model and where the Yamaha is. We’ll run through price and availability and an estimated arrival time. We’ll ask for a license and proof the bike is yours. More on our bike work is on the motorcycle locksmith page.

Yamaha Motorcycles We Get Called For

Most of our Yamaha key work is on the bikes below. If yours isn’t listed, give us the year and model and we’ll tell you whether we can make the key.

Models

YZF-R1, YZF-R6, YZF-R3, MT-07, MT-09, FZ6, FZ1, V Star, Bolt, FJR1300, TW200 and Zuma scooters.

Check for a code tag

New Yamahas usually come with a small tag stamped with the key code. Owners often keep it with the manual or the spare key. A code lets us cut the key straight to factory depths.

Yamaha Key Questions

What is the red key that came with my Yamaha?

Most Yamahas sold in the US have no chip in the key. A red key means yours is one of the few with an immobilizer, and the red one is its master key. Keep it somewhere safe, and tell us you have it when you call. We make transponder keys for Yamahas, so call with the year, make and model for availability.

I have lost every key to my Yamaha. Now what?

For most models we read the cuts from the ignition, the seat lock or the fuel cap and cut a new key at the bike. The few bikes with an immobilizer need the key programmed as well, which we also do. Call with the year, make and model for availability.

Do I need to trailer the bike to a shop?

No. We come to the bike, whether it is in a garage, a driveway or a parking lot.

Does a Yamaha key cost more at night or on a weekend?

No. Our pricing structure is the same during all hours of operation, and there is no additional fee for emergencies.
